As the winner of multiple awards – including two Emmys in 2022 for his composition work on the first season of the hit series The White Lotus, a SOCAN International Award in 2017, and Screen Music Composer of the Year at the SOCAN Gala 2021 and 2023 – Cristobal Tapia de Veer has just won a third Primetime Emmy Award, this time in the Outstanding Music Composition for a Series (Original Dramatic Score) – 2023 category, for the second season of The White Lotus. The ceremony took place on Jan. 6, 2024, in Los Angeles, during the first gala leading up to the televised event on Jan. 15, 2024.

Other series nominated in this category include Succession (Season 4), The Last of Us (Season 1), Andor (Season 1) and Wednesday (Season 1). In other words, major competition. It’s noteworthy that the jury is made up exclusively of world-renowned composers who vote to select the winner in this category.
Unable to attend the ceremony, Tapia de Veer nevertheless sent us this reaction: “Being recognized by your peers is a beautiful thing, THANK YOU to the academy! Congratulations also to Kim Neundorf, who created some beautiful pieces for Season 2 of The White Lotus!”
